GRE Fee Reduction

GRE Fee Reduction Certificate

Educational Testing Services (ETS) makes available a limited number of GRE Fee Reductions for college seniors and non-enrolled college graduates who meet eligibility requirements. The fee reductions may be used for one General Test and/or one Subject Test.

Eligibility for participation in the fee reduction program is limited to one time only. Thereafter, the full test fee will be charged for additional tests for which you register.

Individuals meeting the eligibility requirements will be required to pay 50% of the full test fee. The reduced fee is $70 for the General Test and $65 for a Subject Test.

Eligibility Criteria:

· You must be a U. S. citizen or resident alien; and

· A college senior receiving federal financial aid through an undergraduate college in the U.S., a U. S. territory, or Puerto Rico, or a returning non-enrolled college graduate who has applied for federal financial aid; and either

o A dependent college senior whose Institutional Student Information Report (ISIR) shows an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of not more than $1,400 for the senior year, or

o A self-supporting college senior whose ISIR shows an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of not more than $1,800 for the senior year, or

o A non-enrolled college graduate whose ISIR indicates self-supporting status and an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of not more than $1,800.



 

How to apply:

· If you meet the qualifications outlined above contact the Financial Aid Office at finaid@lmu.edu to request a Fee Reduction Certificate.

· Once your eligibility is established, the Financial Aid Office will issue you a fee reduction certificate.

· You must visit the Office of the Registrar in Charles Von der Ahe Building to obtain the school seal required by the certificate program.

· Attach a copy of your ISIR or SAR showing your Expected Family Contribution (EFC).

· Include the appropriate payment.

· Follow the rest of the instructions on the certificate. Allow up to three weeks for processing and mail delivery.

Please note, ETS will not accept letter requests, photocopies or faxes of fee reduction certificates. Fee reduction certificates are not retroactive and they cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. For more information, contact the Financial Aid Office at finaid@lmu.edu.
