Student Opportunities

Study Abroad

Students interested in studying abroad should visit LMU's Study Abroad Office for information on LMU's Study Abroad programs and important information if you are considering a study abroad program through another university or organization.

Most federal financial aid programs are available for study abroad programs for which units are accepted for transfer to your LMU academic record.

LMU funded financial aid programs are available for enrollment in LMU's study abroad programs.
All students who wish to receive financial aid for enrollment in any study abroad program are required to meet with a financial aid counselor prior to departure. During this counseling session, the financial aid counselor will discuss what types of financial aid are available to you based on the the study abroad program in which you plan to enroll.

Resident Advisor Program

If you are selected to participate in the LMU Housing Residential Advisor (R.A) program you will be able to receive R.A benefits. This will include a room and board grant and stipend. These funds will be treated like an outside scholarship when determining eligibility for need-based financial aid for the following school year. Your R.A benefits, in case you are at your Cost of Attendance, will be used to reduce or eliminate your loan or student employment before any adjustment is made. You will not be able to receive a work-study award, unless authorized by the Housing Office.
